Imagine Groucho, the guy who famously said he'd never belong to any club that would have him as a member, hearing a pitch for this ad: "Groucho sent me," indeed.
Beyond that notion, pre-Frebergian hard sell, bouncy jingle, starry-eyed consumers and fluid animation make this spot more of an enduring classic of '50s culture than the car it pushes.
